Mind Threads Kick off meeting

MindThreads begins in Tampere, Finland!

From 28 September to 1 October 2026, the Craftopia team visited Tampere, Finland, for the kick-off meeting of the European project MindThreads, together with the coordinating partner Modus ry.

During the meeting, the two organisations presented their experience and roles within the project, discussed its methodology and planned the next steps of their collaboration. Particular attention was given to the preparation of the Mending Circles that will take place in Greece and Finland, the development of the educational toolkit and the collective creation of the Emotional Resilience Map.

MindThreads uses visible mending and participatory textile practices as tools for creative expression, connection and empowerment. Through the workshops, participants will create their own Resilience Patches, reflecting personal experiences, emotions and stories of resilience. The individual pieces created in both countries will then be brought together in a shared textile installation.

On Wednesday, 30 September, Evita Stavrou presented MindThreads at the Design Afternoon, held as part of Tampere Design Week. The presentation introduced the project to Tampere’s creative community and highlighted its connection to craft, sustainability, social inclusion and emotional resilience.

The meeting in Tampere marked the beginning of a creative collaboration between Greece and Finland. We returned to Thessaloniki full of ideas and ready to begin the next phase of MindThreads!
